Landfill Sassnitz-Lancken - Hazard Assessment

Project description:

The landfill Sassnitz-Lancken is a former domestic waste disposal site in the couty of Rügen. During the GDR era the landfill also served as a disposal site for hazardous wastes that accrued in the former administrative district of Rostock.

• Determination of potential risks associated to the landfill, its relationship to close-by protected goods (degree of danger) and suggestion of protection as well as redevelopment measures.
• Withing the scope of the assessment, subsoil drillings and laboratory examinations were tendered and supervised. A groundwater model was developed in order to evaluate the location.
